MBPro + Linksys WRT54G + Rogers Internet (canada) Help Needed Please

I have a MBPRO (2.4 GHZ Intel Core duo), with a Linksys WRT54G wireless router I just picked up today with version 8 firmware... I am connected to Rogers internet through a scientific atlanta 2100 cable modem and the internet works.

i can connect to the wireless router through a wired connection to edit the setup which I have changed the admin password and added WEP security... I can find the network through airport and the router accepts the password but I am unable to surf the net.

I have not changed any settings in Network on my MBpro....

Do you have to bridge the modem and the router? They may be battling to assign your computer an address. Give Rogers tech support a call and they can talk you through it.
