MBPro retina - windows don't fit on screen when disconnected from external monitor

When I disconnect my external monitor, the windows that were on my external monitor appear on the MB Pro screen, but they are always wider than the screen and I have to go through and resize them all. I don't remember this being an issue with my MB Pro non-retina.

Any solutions?

What resolution are you using on your retina?

What resolution is your external?

Simply dragging the window to the top of your screen will maximize it to fill the current resolution.

I have a feeling your problem lies in the fact that you are using the "Best for retina" which is 1440x900 and your external is perhaps 1080p wide.

Yes, external is 1920x1080. And I'm using best for retina on the mb pro.
