You should have asked before bringing it to Apple, who says the HD is fried, a clean install after a wipe could have solved the problem, if this didn't work you could still bring it in.

Get a new Hard drive. make sure you back up as much data as you can. Get the drive replaced and you'll be set.

Apple doesnt have their prices listed, some labor costs are between $19-$39 bucks plus parts a hard drive may cost upwards near $299. if its out of warranty you can buy your own and have them install it. make sure it works prior to bringing it in as they have no liability on that end.

Hello guys, really need some help,

i wane get a mac mini and need to run two OSX system at the same time. Does anyone know if that is possible?

long story short, i have a very expensive original drawing programme that only runs on the old OSX 10.4.11 Tiger. Cannot afford a new version. At the same time as this OS is old now a lot of software are not compatible without a OS upgrade. For my drawing programme i need OSX 10.4.11 but for most other things i need and would like to upgrade the OS.

I don't really wane just have two different OS on separate partitions (which i know is possible) what i really am trying to find out is can i have them running at the same time and and simply switch instantly between the two OS rather then rebooting between the systems.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Your Off topic and should start your own thread but I will say this.

It depends on the Mac Mini, if it is a newer one you can't have two partition nor running tiger on an external since the new processors won't let you install older OS X versions.
So, you need to say what model Mini you have.
But, you can still use a Virtual Machine, some of the Apps are Parallels (Paid), VMware Fusion (Paid) and VirtualBox which is free, but even here you could run into problems since you might not be able to install a non Server OS X version.
