So McDonald's UK apparently offer free wifi at their restaurants. It's powered by Cloud.

How would I go about accessing the wifi? Would I need to download an app first? I know there's the Cloud app, but that's only free wifi connection for O2 customers isn't it?

I've got iPad 32BG (no 3G).

If it is truly free WiFi you should be able to just go into your setting -> Wi-Fi and see the network listed and select it

Having done that, try to open a web page
It may direct you to instruction on downloading an App or it may connect after a free registration or something

It should just work - you'll be asked if you want to join the network when you switch your iPad on and start attempting to surf.

Damn you... this has got me in the mood for a McFlurry...!

You don't have to download an app, just go into you wifi settings.

For most of these hotspots, first connect to it, and when you open or refresh browser it should take you to the hotspots page, just click okay/connect/login and you are good to go. Most hotels or airports, or restaurants I have been to uses this system. Is there a time limit at mcdonalds in the uk? In hong kong they let you use it for 20 minutes, at least that is what the sign says.

Thx guys! Damnit if I knew this b4 I headed out for lunch I wouldn't have had to settle for an overpriced soggy 3 bean wrap at starbucks!

Top tip - If you're in a hotel / airport etc that uses the Cloud network you can search for and find the Macdonalds free wifi launch page using the limited free Internet search on the Cloud. You can then login and it thinks you're in McD's as there seems to be no kind of source IP etc checking in place!
