That Mcintosh screensaver is great. Back in '84, I got to use one of the originals, so it brings back memories.

Then I see "Here's to the Crazy Ones..." I feel good about that.

Here's the "but." That ad was from 1997, thirteen years after the original Mac was introduced. Some reference to the classic "1984" commercial would have been more appropriate.

The team that created that screensaver probably has nobody who was even alive in 1984.

I like that screensaver a lot as well, but I have not been able to successfully get my choice of color to stick. No matter what I do it always reverts to Spectrum. This is across three different Macs: an M4 Air, M4 iMac and an M1 Mini. Anybody getting it to work correctly?

Yes it works fine for me, although I stick to Dark Grey. However, I'm using it as a desktop wallpaper, not a screensaver.

You know what, using it as a wallpaper is the key to making the screensaver work properly. I futzed around with it after I made that post, and realized that if I tick the box that also makes it the desktop, then the color would stick. If I tried to ONLY use it as a screensaver (desktop box unticked) it will revert Spectrum over and over.

Toggling this setting sometimes helps...
