I believe you meant the 1.25 SP.

In 2003, there was a 1.25 DP version available as well. And it had 2MB L3.

I think it's easier to classify MDD Macs by FireWire version rather than year.

All "FW400" 1.25 DP processor cards had 2MB L3. The only FW800 processor card that had 2MB L3 was the 1.42 DP. 2MB L3 cache was reserved for only top of the line MDD (1.25 DP for FW400 and 1.42 DP for FW800).

You can easily ID a FW800 1.25GHz DP vs the FW400 by the number of the coils on the processor card. The FW800 has three coils while the FW400 has just two.
