So, I recently got a Griffin Firewave for my Power Mac G4 Mirror-Door-Drive (FW800, dual 1GHz).
Since then, I've had nothing but problems. To begin, my lower firewire 400 port died, meaning I could only use one firewire device at a time (in this case, either my Firewave or my iSight). This morning, the upper firewire port stopped working, and my motherboard Firewire 400 bus is no longer recognized by Apple System Profiler (the Firewire on a PCI card and the mobo Firewire 800 is still recognized). At this point, I decided to try each firewire device with my Macbook. The iSight worked, and the Firewave worked (after replacing the Griffin fireware cable - seems it was a faulty cable). I thought it would be best to try to boot my Power Mac up off of my Apple Hardware Test CD. However, as soon as the AHT loading screen came up, the error "Invalid memory access at %SRR0: ae0c0108 0c01086f" came up in Open Firmware. Thinking it must be a memory issue, I decided to run memtest (Google it) from single-user mode to see if any of my memory was bad. After passing all the memory tests (meaning it can't be a memory issue), I booted up into OS X. As soon as it came up, I realized that now both AirPort and Bluetooth were dead. I shut down the MDD, unplugged it, and set it in the other room to cool down.
So - does anyone know what's wrong? Is my motherboard shot? I'm planning to take it to a Genius Bar this Sunday if I'm unable to determine the problem before then.
