Hey guys,
I'm somewhat new to Mac. I've had a Mac Mini for years now, but my question is about the Thunderbolt feature on my new MBP. I own the newest model, the i7 500GB etc... I recently bought the Thunderbolt to HDMI on monoprice. (http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10428&cs_id=1042802&p_id=5311&seq=1&format=2)

The question is, when I hook it up to my TV it's not 1080p. It seems to be a little grainy, I own a Sony Bravia 46" 1080p obviously. When I go into the display setting i have it at the highest resolution but its still not as clear as I thought it'd be. Why is this?

Thanks in advance

What setting does the TV say its at? My one TV insists it goes into 1080i mode, not 1080p, and that often screws things up at first (this is with a windows laptop).

The grain sounds like a faulty cable. The display port / thunderbolt port can output 1080p no problem to HDMI, so I wouldn't expect any grain.

I guess it is being displayed in 1080p. Everything looks pretty crisp, except when I play movies, it not as clear but maybe its the converter..
