MDS being too active

Recently the MDS Spotlight Indexing process has been going go 95% CPU utilization a few times a day on my iMac G5. This is the first gen model, and it gets to full CPU utilization, the fans speed up. This is annoying.

I don't wan to turn spotlight off, I just want MDS to be a little less aggressive.

Maybe try dragging com.apple.spotlight.plist to the Desktop and rebooting.
