I uninstalled and reinstalled office 08 because I have been having problems with word and excel (didn't help by the way), and now mdworker and mdworker32 are both going 97%. I quit the processes over and over but it keeps coming back. My computer is going insane. What do I do?

Any ideas for word? I have a chart in word, but the option to edit the data in excel is greyed out. I need to finish this for school. It's an ongoing project so I have to edit it everyday. It happened earlier this week and I only had a few days of data so I just made a new document, but now the data is gone and it happened again.
