I have discovered the beauty that is Imovie HD and made a little compilation movie that I want to share with friends via Youtube. I have a problem though:

The finished product is 1.52gb and therefore far too large to fit on there as they limit it to 100mb, so:

1) How can I lower the resoloution enough to maybe make it smaller?

2) If that fails, how can I compress it to get to fit?

3) What else can I do?

4) How can I get it to work in anything other than Imovies HD which alot of my PC friends obviously don't have?

Cheers for any tips!!

Export it to your preferred format.

I seem to remember YouTube likes 320x240 mpeg4. Play with the bitrate until you get it to the size you want. If you use expert settings, it will give you an estimate of the file size.

thanks very much - I managed to shrink it won from 1.52gb to 5mb!!!!!

I will post the link as soon as it is on youtube.

Thanks for your help!!

:D

Very nice, but I would switch up the effects on the pictures. Just zooming in on each one gets boring.

I did try this at the beginning, but the fading effects are not too good looking in the settings, so I just left the zoom as it was and spread the movie footage about a bot more - the only way round this is if there are better looking fades etc I can download from somewhere.

Still....it was the 1st time I have ever done this and I was happy with the bit where the music and the footage of the wreck coincide. I had been wondering how to do that, and it happened by accident!!

Heh heh. Love your method of entering the water
Yeah.......it's the only way after a hrd day's diving!!:)
