hey guys, first post :)

I got my hands on a 12" PB 1.5ghz the other day for $200 and im loving it. Im a pc tech but this suits me perfectly after i sold my EEEpc cause the screen was too small. The thing im wondering is, i cant seem to find much info on the 12" as in forums or info sites. I dont need to know specs or anything but was just wondering if anyone knew of any forums with alot of people with 12" PB's who can share info?

Yeah, this one has a fair amount of PowerBook users (or ex users) around, so it should be quite informative. More specifically though, what sort of information are you after? :)

oh quit bragging about your 12 inch!

(yes, were all jealous) :p
and, that is a phenomenal deal. i'll buy it for $400

yeh it is nice, loving multi touch :D

umm just little things like upgrades or mods people may have done like res upgrades and things.

Well it was $250 AUD and the optical drive wont eject but because im a pc tech i know the guys who fix mac stuff under warranty, so i grabbed a Superdrive off ebay which arrived today for $80 and they are fitting it for free. asside from that its perfect :D Battery even holds 3 hours charge.

Awesome deal, how's the physical condition? Any dings, scratches, etc? As for multi-touch, technically the PB doesn't have it. Just good 'ol fashioned two-finger action. There's a joke there about "your mom," but I don't want to get banned. ;)

p.s. - welcome to the club!

Nice!

That is my current main Mac, and I absolutely love it. I am probably one of the few folks that were disappointed the MacAir was not a 12" PB factor laptop.

Good deal though! :D

yeh this is a

1.5ghz
768mb of ram, gotta upgrade

Multitouch was first introduced in MacBook Air and is now used in MBA and Penryn MacBooks/Pros.

Unless you are referring to 2-finger scroll and "right click", PowerBooks never had Multitouch.

you bought it in Au and it still hold 3 hours charge? OMG! where did you buy this? im thinking of selling my MacBook Pro and buying a 12" PowerBook or MacBook along with a new PC for gaming and Windows apps so i dont have to Boot Camp or install Vmware on my Mac.

oh k cool! i thinking about building my own with a Q9450 2.66GHz core 2 quad and 8800gt.

but where did u buy the PowerBook? ebay? a mate?

Wow,

What a GREAT deal you got on that Powerbook. For the record, that Powerbook holds a special place in all past & present owners. It was the last great form factor from Apple. They truly broke the mold when they made it.

I may own a Mac Pro, but my 12" PB will always be my favorite. When I am especially lazy & don't want to sit at the desk, my Powerbook sits perfectly on my chest when I'm laying on the couch.

Enjoy it & congrats!
