It can be done with a different phone with force touch tech.
Will the api give developpers the way to create a app like this?

I think this would be awesome actually, I hope that it can be done. And even if not now, I hope this feature is introduced in future versions of the iPhone.

I think it depends on how deep dev's can use it. Can force touch be used to detect specific force levels or every small increase in pressure?

Come on admit the cool factor. Being able to measure weight of small object by placing them on your screen!
I am also curious if force touch requires the capacitive finger/meat or if it is not required to measure pressure.

According to the dev docs, you can read out a floating point value of the force of a touch. It's not an absolute value though, so I think weighing scales are off the drawing board...

EDIT: this is extremely apparent when using a deep press to invoke the shortcut menu on an app icon on the home screen. You can gradually increase pressure and see the animation follow your finger's pressure exactly. You can even alternate pushing harder and softer (but still above the "Peek") and the animation reverses and follows your finger's pressure.

EDIT2: here, I just did it for you: http://gfycat.com/SkinnyCraftyCoot

I know about the animation thing. Its pretty cool. But its about the api if this is gonna be an option for making a weight measure app like the newest huawei phone.
