Media Central deletes Applications folder

A reasonably new alternative to Front Row has been released - Media Central.

But this is a warning to all potential users - this application is a SERIOUS risk to your HD. It totally deleted my entire Applications folder, and there are reports on MacUpdate of at least two others who have lost significant amounts of data.

Be very, very careful using this software. Like the comment on MacUpdate, I too find it staggering that this application is still being made available for download. Any responsible developer would have removed it until they were sure that it wasn't dangerous any more.

And, for that matter, would reply to the users who have had their application folders trashed with at least an apology.

One the developers seem to be ignoring. This happened to two people, yet they had time to update the application before replying to us, and then someone else got hit by it. Still no reply.

If you have time to update your application you have time to at least try to fix a bug like this. And if you don't know how to fix it, then take your application offline until you do! How many trashed gb of data will it take them to do something about this?!
