Hi All,

i've searched all over for a solution and have tried dozens of methods...none have worked. I can send mms just fine but i cannot receive them. i get the following:
The media content was not included due to a picture resolution or message size restriction

i have:
iphone 3G
JB & unlocked
T-Mobile
4.0
05.13.04

any ideas?

thanks cadman

have you tried these settings

APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username:
Password:
MMSC: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy 216.155.165.50:8080
MMS Max Message Size:
MMS UA Prof URL:

yes...those are the settings i have now, labman. still not working. i can send mms fine... but cant receive them. i get that error message.

i'll try adding that source and MMS fix, applejuiced....hopefully that will work. i'll let you know

Good luck bro.
Also there has been an update to redsnow to fix this issue.
The latest redsn0w (0.9.5b5-5) does fix any APN/MMS issues. If you are already jailbroken just rerun this but deselect Cydia.

i'll try the new redsnow...does it mater what firmware i have? i currently have 4.0

actually i have not tried it yet...wanted to try to use redsnow again...i did that..but it still doesnt work. i was hopeful about re-jailbreak with redsnow 5-5 because i see other who have done it with success.

now i'll try the repro...but i have no data plan so i'll have to wait until i get to my wifi network at home. this is killing me. i cant understand why the redsnow 5-5 didnt work for me.

I'm pretty sure you can't get MMS messages without a data plan. I know this doesn't make sense since MMS are charged separately, but I've repeatedly read that people with data blocks or with 3G/EDGE disabled have been unable to receive MMS messages.

You can, at least on T-Mobile.

that can't be true because i can send them just fine...and my wife and i can send/receive them to each other with no prob...we both have iphone 3G. we cant receive them from other people, though. once in a blue moon it will work and i will receive one from someone else. but its rare. 99% of the time i get the "media content was not included..." error.
we both have T-Mobile

Applejuiced....can you tell me the easiest way to SSH into my phone via USB? from what i'm reading...it takes 2 seperate programs to do this...winscp and iphone tunnel. is there an better way?

thanks

If you have OpenSSH on your phone (you should), then all you need is winscp and have both your phone and pc on the same network. Should be good to go.

thanks for the reply, scirica..

i'm using USB for this. and i'm about to give up and find some other software to SSH because i can't get winscp/itunnel to connect. i keep getting "software caused connection to abort" and i've tried many solutions with no luck.

any suggestions?

i had to SSH and found the file mentioned...deleted what was there and copied the values given. Not sure what it all means..but i've tried everything else so i figured WHY NOT. i had to use Diskaid to SSH. i could not get it to SSH using winscp/itunnel. then i rebooted and it worked. the updates (#1, #2, #3) did not apply. it worked the first time after following it from the beginning.

Very good.
So you didnt have to folllow the other edditional updates/steps.
The beggining part worked. Good to know, thanks.
I wonder if they could make it a little easier than that without sshing or having to edit files with text editor.
I dont see why a package installed thru cydia couldnt do all that replacing that file.
