Media downloads filling up my Family iCloud Account

Hi Folks,

I got a 512 GB MacBook Air recently. I was planning to put a whole bunch of movies and TV shows that I have purchased over the years. To my chagrin, as I began to fill up the SSD, my 200GB of iCloud storage also began to fill up with what I assume must be a copy of what I am downloading. I'm not having any luck stopping this from happening. Any ideas?
