I was just about to download handbrake so i can play a few of my DVD's on my PSP and saw this 'Media Fork' program as well.

It says on the website that it is an enhanced version of handbrake, but it is still only beta. Has anyone used it? Is it stable? Or am i just better off downloading standard handbrake?

Well i downloaded it a few weeks ago, and it seems to be able to rip encoded stuff and then straight to MPG4 (i think). So this would cut out the need for MacTheRipper

MediaFork IS Handbrake.

The story goes like this: The Handbrake dev had kind of abandoned the code, and since it was GPL'd another team of guys picked it up, added features, called it MediaFork and released it.

Since then the original dev is back on board and the project will once again be called Handbrake.

So, yes it's stable, it's a great program, and I highly recommend it. Pick up MediaFork for now and once the next update comes around, it'll be called Handbrake again.

Here's where you can get MediaFork/Handbrake: http://handbrake.m0k.org/
