Media keys stop working on Macbook air i3 2020

My media keys (play/pause, FF, RR) stop working in the last couples days. The volume keys and mute are ok.

It seems to only affect the Music app.

I tried to reset the PRAM, SMC, etc.
I also allowed full disk access to the music app

Does it happen to anyone? what else can I try?

This happens occasionally when other apps hijack the multimedia keys. Not sure what you can do other than find the offender and close it, which in my experience more often than not ends up being Chrome.

I just upgraded my iMac to Big Sur and this started happening, previously I was running Sierra. This is awful.
Hope anyone knows how to revert it back to what I'm used to since iTunes started...

By going into Safari preferences -> websites -> Auto-Play -> Never Auto-Play do the trick.
