Two weeks or so ago, I did a full erase and install of macOS on my iMac. Before that, I had Media Sharing set up on the iMac, and I had no trouble streaming to my iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air, and our two Apple TVs.
This morning I finally went to putting my movies back on my iMac, I enabled Media Sharing, and it works perfectly on my iPad and iPhone. On the Apple TVs, I can see my computer name, I can select it and see my full library, but when I go to play any movie, I just get a spinner. And my MacBook Air shows Home Sharing in the sidebar, but doesn't show my iMac.
I've made sure all devices are up to date. I've restarted all devices. Forgotten and rejoined our wifi (all devices are on the same network.) I have disabled and re-enabled Media Sharing on the iMac multiple times. I've changed the name of my computer, thinking maybe my Air thinks my clean install iMac is maybe the same as my pre-clean install iMac. When I put movies into the TV app, I keep them on the external hard drive - thinking that might be a problem, I put a movie into TV and let it copy it onto the iMac hard drive. I've restarted our Eero router. And probably other troubleshooting steps that don't come to mind.
After all those steps, result is the same: iPad and iPhone can see and play movies from my iMac library, Apple TVs can see my library but won't play, and MacBook Air can't see my iMac library.
Thoughts? Next steps?
