Hi All,

New to the forums so please forgive a newbie's question(s).

I've recently got my mac mini setup to be a media center - photos in iPhoto, got my iTunes library across from my PC and have Eye TV installed and using it as a PVR.

I want to be able to stream the media to my TV downstairs.

I think I have two options (maybe more?), Apple TV or an UPnP AV device (like the Netgear EVA9000) and EyeConnect.

If I go the Apple TV route:

1) From what I've read it seams to take a long time to convert the Eye TV recordings to a format supported by Apple TV, do I need to get the Turbo.264, and what performance increase can I expect?

2) I'm based in the UK with a UK iTunes account. I'm on a trip to the US next month, will a US Apple TV work OK in the UK with a UK account? It's so much cheaper in the US!

If I go the UPnP AV device route, I need to buy EyeConnect as well as the device.

1) Does anyone have experience of using EyeConnect and streaming to a device like the Netgear?

2) Does this approach make it harder to access my music in iTunes and photos in iPhoto?

Generally can anyone recommend the merits of one approach over the other?

Sooo many questions, sorry!

Thanks,
Gr
