I have a MacBook Pro running Leopard, I never had a problem burning any type of cds using ITunes until now. I have tried many different things such as:

1. Dropping the burn speed down to 2x and 1x.
2. Updating ITunes.
3. Cleaning the CD drive laser.
4. Checking the drive with a non burned cd to make sure it works.

Any one have any clues as to what is causing the problem?

me aswell!

i have a mbp, leopard 10.5.4, itunes 8.

it either says media writting error or it burns the cd then at the end says there was a problem and it didn't burn correctly.

it is really pissing me off

The issue in the end came down to my optical drive having gone bad. At least that is the only thing the Apple Support guy and I could figure, so luckily they get to replace the drive for free since I still had 59 days left on the warranty.
Maybe your drive has gone bad too.
