Medialink Streaming Lag

I've recently purchased nullriver's medialink to stream videos off of my macbook pro to my ps3
but there's always lag when I'm watching a video
no matter what file or size.
Is there any way to optimize the software
so that there is little or no lag?
(ie. port forwarding, router configuration, ect.)

anything would help.
please help me with the dilemma.

I wasn't too impressed with medialink when I was looking for a media server.

I had better luck with these two (both free)
