meebo messaging app - sound notification

I just installed meebo on my ip4 and noticed that even when I disable the sound under settings to off, I still get sound notifications upon new messages. Anyone else have this issue? I tried restarting the ip4 , and same problem.

I have meebo if I flip the vibrate switch then I no longer receive sounds from meebo..

Once I had an issue after my phone was on for a few days that even though the phone itself was muted, I had an app that kept playing sound (when normally it didn't if the switch was flipped) a reboot fixed it..

Do you still get sound even if you have the phone on vibrate?

No I don't get sound when the phone is muted. I just wanted to mute the new message sound as for me it gets annoying to hear it on every single incoming message, when the phone is not on silent.
