Hi
Weird problem just arose this week. Have not installed any new software or hardware!

Mail will suddenly decide it can't send my mail. Connection failures are indicated by the exclamation point sign. However, I am still receiving mail and my internet connection is normal. It takes hours to be able to send mail again.:(

What is going on?

For email, sending and receiving is treated completely separately. During this time are you changing networks? Are you behind a firewall? What sort of email account is it? :)

Hi
Thanks for your response.
As far as I know, networks are not being changed. We only have a home network using a Wireless n router. Have had the router for 6 months and until last week this problem never occurred.
I am using the Apple firewall--both personal and windows sharing are enabled. There are 2 PCs in the home network but I gave up trying to do file sharing because it never did work right.
The sending problem happens with both my POP gmail and my POP ISP account.
