We know meizu is ripping of apple but i must admit that the meizu m8 ui is starting to look almost better than the iphone ui itself: http://www.engadget.com/photos/meiz...again-a-few-pixels-to-the-left-please/701009/

Especially the dialpad looks much better IMHO. The iphone dialpad seems a bit rushed and cheap. it's just square fields with lines instead of good looking button ui like here in the meizu version: http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/03/20083152181512022.jpg

What do you think?

The iPhone UI is mostly skin deep, which is why it's so easy to clone. Of course, iPhone owners have no choice but to like the dialer and UI they have. (Those who haven't jailbroken, that is.)

There are lots of dialer skins for Windows Mobile. Just Google for images:

As for UIs, many are now trying to avoid just copying of the overly simplistic iPhone home page icon matrix.

I don't know of any other phone using the same multi-touch screen, although the capability to spread and pinch has been emulated in software on at least one phone from China.

Apple themselves don't seem to make much use of the multi-finger capability beyond zooming and textarea/div scrolling, and they provided alternative methods for some of that since you don't always have two fingers free.

I know that I rarely use two fingers on web pages, since it's easier to double-tap in and out. And only occasionally have reason to use it on photos.

Most makers have instead come up with a single-finger gesture vocabulary. Like HTC's circling the area you wish to zoom to. Or drawing little corners to rotate. For example, Check out 3:10 into this video.

Thank you for a nice link kdaling. Touch seems to be an alternative. Wish iPhone had WM or Linux (which is better).

These "signs" resemble casting spells in the "Black and White" game :^)

And I must agree with one of the last comments to the video:
this guy has the most boring voice EVER!!!!!
he put me to sleep

ROFL )))))

It'll never be like the iPhone UI or anything else. My brother who works for a mobile company and isnt a fan of Apple products said the iPhone is the best touch screen device on the planet right now no question and no one has really gotten close i.e. the HTC Touch, the LG Viewty etc and its somewhat true

Most of the reviews i've seen of touch devices always have the reviewer saying "touch interface is subpar when compared with the iPhone"

Im not even bothered by Meizu's imitation after all imitation is the best form of flattery

Frankly speaking I'm not a fan of Apple too, but I REALLY like their design. I was impressed by iPhone UI, though some reviews weren't so good. For example they say it takes like 2-3 seconds more to just dial a number - primary phone function actually. They were created for it :)
3 seconds each time, gives a minute for 20 calls a day, so... 360 minutes (which is 6 hours per year). That's what we are supposed to pay for the fun factor LOL

well i live in countries that do not have iphone nor do they have good data plans. honestly, i own a meizu m6 and love it - hisses but i love the look - it is just such a twist on an apple product but such a very sleazy ripoff, just love it.

if the m8 comes out before iphone in my country and i have only a few years there anyway, i will probably get the meizu if it does not stack strangely with osx.

iphone would be best for sync with my mac naturally.
