If you search the members post its over 700. However, many of them judging by the first page appear to be in the marketplace. Either what MacDawg said or possibly there was a differing Avatar rule back in 2004.

But, why does it matter is still a very good question...

There was a different marketplace rule back then. That likely has something to do with it. Marketplace posts counted back in the day.
