Member status “Cancelled”

Hi there,

I’ve noticed that some members here have a status of “Cancelled”. I’m just curious as to what that means?

It means they asked to have their account closed, using the Contact Form, and an admin did so.

Further on this point, I remember there used to be a title called Guest for closed accounts, has that title been replaced with Cancelled or are they both in use?

Guest was the used in the previous VBulletin forum software and cancelled with the current XenForo forum software.

You may still see some old closed accounts with the Guest title. Example post

I know this mainly because there are a few accounts I use to test semi-annual statistics collection, and that's one that shows as Guest.

XenForo doesn't actually have a "Cancelled" status, so until we started doing it manually, the only choice was to change the account status to "Banned." We decided it was worth the extra step, so that users aren't given the "Banned" status without reason.
