I have a voice memo on my iphone 4 of my husband being verbally abusive and making threats of physical violence. I have never been able to get my phone to sync to my computer so I tried to send it by email, but it is too big. So I tried to trim it down to just send the first 3 minutes, as that is the most important. But I must have done something wrong because what I emailed is not the first 3 minutes and now when I play it on the phone the first 3 minutes isn't there either.

However, in the list of memos:

is still lists the length of 1 hr 13m 37s. And when I click on the arrow to the right of the list that also looks like the full message is there. When I click on 'trim memo' and slide my finger across the blue scroll, when I get all the way across it also looks like the full thing is there.

So is the message still there? How can I recover it?

Has anyone used this software: http://www.wondershare.com/data-recovery/iphone-data-recovery.html

I may really need this as evidence to get a restraining order to keep myself and my young daughter safe! I've been in tears and sick about this since last night when it happened. Surely, the memo is on the phone somewhere?

You can try i-FunBox but I am not sure it will work for Voice memos.
Now, the other thing you can do... is jailbreaking, then via SSH or i-FunBox itself, you would navigate to the right location on the filesystem and copy the entire file without hassle.
