not sure
hi-

is there anyone who can point me in the direction of a memorex scanner driver - specifically a 6136u scanner? I checked their website and it is only supported in windows 95 and 98... i don't think it is supported in vuescan.

any other work-a-round?

it was given to me, and i was hoping that i could possibly use it for something.

if i'm better off buying a new scanner, let me know...

thanks!!

Check out

www.hamrick.com/vsm.html

www.silverfast.com/product/en.html

if you can't find it there, or at

www.versiontracker.com

You may need to find out what scanner Memorex rebadged, since it's quite likely from someone else.

It may be supported in Vuescan, but under another name -- or it's in the list of non-supported scanners.

Edit: quick google of "memorex scanner rebadged" make it look like quite a few are Artec/Primax which are unsupported by VueScan.

In general, with anything made by Memorex, my recommendation is to place it in the trash and buy a new one. Memorex is one of those companies that I can't say anything good about. I've had nothing but problems with their products.

I bought my Canon CanoScan LiDE 500F for around $120 at CompUSA, and I've been very pleased with it. It's thin, USB bus powered, and well supported in OS X.
