I am thinking about getting a MacBook Pro. I know what I want for storage but do not know if I should get the 24 or 48 GB of memory. I am about to be a college student in about 1 year and I do gaming. I also do Photoshop and Illustrator as well. I currently use a Windows laptop with an upgraded 16 GB of ram. I know that Mac chips share memory between the CPU and GPU but just want to future proof my machine and not regret getting the wrong amount of ram. Thanks for the help. I do not know if this is important but I am going for a degree in network administration.

24 or 48 GB… I do gaming…. Photoshop and Illustrator… future proof
The one thing you didn’t say is when you’ll REPLACE this new laptop, so I’m assuming several years (I.e. you want it to be your primary computer through school and for some period of time after graduation).

With that assumption in mind… 48GB

I plan to keep it till it is no longer supported by updates.
