I'm thinking about upgrading my ram and hard drive. I wanted to know if anyone has bought ram or hard drive from here: http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/MacBook/DDR2/Upgrade and how reliable they are. I also wanted to know if there's a particular hard drive brand I should choose.

OWC is a well known online shop for mac gear - You should have no troubles buying there... Check newegg, crucial, datamem and fastmac too, but just make sure you read the specs on your system before committing to new hardware.

thanks. it's just hard to find a place with good deals that delivers to portugal.

There's probably a local shop that carries brand-name memory though, right? I can't speak for prices, but if you find brand-name hardware with a warranty matching the specs of your machine (macbook, no?) you should be just fine. I can suggest Mushkin, Kingston, Crucial, as good brands. There are a few others too... For hard drives, I have an affinity towards Seagate, but there are those who prefer Maxtor, Western Digital, Samsung, or Toshiba.

For the Macbook C2D, I would suggest this memory and this hard drive.

*Note, I'm not listing the fastest, or most performance parts - just something I think is a balance of reliable and inexpensive.
