Memory Available on a New Phone

So ballpark, what's the memory available to play on a New phone?

If my music lib is only 8 gig, I do NO video, BUT I'd like to play with many Apps, can I get away with a 16 GB?

If you only have an 8GB music library then I can pretty much guarantee you're good with just 16GB.
