I'm interested in getting a SD digital video camera. Will any SD memory card work well? I found some cheap cards on amazon which are way cheaper than the name brand cards. Will I see any performance issues by using the cheaper off brand cards?

I just saw that some are designed for SD cameras. Is there really anything different? Will I see any quality/performance boosts?

Check the specifications or manual for a given camcorder, and make sure you buy cards that write data at the required speed (Class 4, Class 6, etc.). Brands like Kingston, Transcend, etc. are fine. Sandisk will cost you more. Are they better? Who knows? I have a bunch of Sandisk and Transcend SDHC cards and have yet to have a fault with any of them, if that makes any difference.
