Memory Card recovery inquiries

Im wondering if anyone has experience with recovering images from a SDHC memory card?

I purchased this:

and this card reader:

they both state SDHC compatible...


recently I had used the card to take photos and even pulled them off the camera using iPhoto.

I ejected the camera as usual and properly, then last night i had to pull some photos off from an event and now i keep getting a Card Read Error.

Ive tried ImageRescue3 given to me by a Crucial Tech but didnt detect the card reader.
Nor does the OS (leopard 10.5.5)

Windows recognizes the card reader, then sees the card but freezes.



Any decent apps or utilities that might be able to recognize the card/card reader?
