I have a macbook pro 13" (2010) which i recently upgraded to 8GB of memory. I'm really considering to get a new 2011 15". I just wanted to know if i could use these same memory sticks in the new model. They are kingston 2x4GB, the exact product code is KTA-MB1066K2/8G

I believe the chipset in the new models should support the DDR3/1066 RAM correct? Anyone know or have any experience with it?

Thanks!

The new MacBook Pros use DDR3 memory at a speed of 1333MHz, whereas the 2010 models use memory clocked at a speed of 1066 MHz. While 1066 MHz memory should in theory work in the new 2011 models (I'm not 100% sure on this however), I'd recommend sticking with 1333 MHz for best performance.

Hope that helps, have a great day.
