Memory for G5 1.6ghz

I am waiting for my G5 to be delivered, got a deal on E-bay. It is a 1.6ghz model. I see that Apple specifies DDR333 for this model but I have two sticks of DDR400 would these be backwards compatible?

DDR400 should work. The 970FX machines could be tempermental with their RAM timings.

Yes it should automatically downclock . Usually you can find the DDR 400mhz cheaper then the 333.
