Memory?? for MacBook Pro late 2006!

I have a MacBook Pro Late 2006 (MA609LL)

It is max. out for memory with 2- 2gb sticks which =4gb. Just wondering if somebody on here has tried one 4gb and one 2gb to = 6 gb? Can this be done and what problems if you had them.
