memory for powermac

Will my powermac take advantage of memory with lower latencies, or would i be wasting my money? i know on most pcs, you would have to set the more agressive latencies in the BIOS, so this is why i ask this question.

1.42 stock model.

Well, more Ram in general will increase proformance, but I'm not sure about increasing the ram speed and things like that.
