I have been very happy with Ventura but I noticed that my Studio was using a lot of RAM for my workload so I closed everything running except for Activity Monitor and it shows 11.77 GB of RAM in use. My system has been running for 15 days so there may be some small leaks that have accumulated over time. It wasn't causing any issues as I run most of my office stuff on my iMac so I have 64 GB of RAM between the two systems.

But it looks like I should reboot the system every once in a while. I would ideally like to never reboot it but I don't think that's feasible as there are always memory leaks. Ventura, though, is still miles ahead of Monterey. I had to reboot daily with the initial version of Monterey. I can live with every other week.

What do you do on the Studio? That could have an impact on memory usage/memory leaks. I have not had this issue on my M1 MacBook Air, but it seems to be a fairly common problem. You might try reinstalling macOS, too. Here's a screenshot of my Activity Monitor with 20 Chrome tabs open, plus Mail, Notes, Reminders, etc. So this is what it *should* look like.

Also, before you do ANYTHING, restart the Studio, and disable all login items, unless they're absolutely necessary.

It mainly runs Think or Swim and Active Trader Pro, Firefox with a couple of tabs. I run mail and notes outside of the regular business day. So nothing exciting. It could be that there are leaks in any of those applications but I have enough RAM in the system so that it isn't a problem.

Actually never mind—was just on a Skype call and experienced INSANE memory leaks! "Skype Helper (Renderer)" was using 8.7 GB!!

This happened in the early days of 12.0 and took a few updates to solve. It seems every Mac OS release we go around the buoy with memory leak on specific services and processes!

Yup. Monterey 12.6.1 fixed my leaks and the network issues that I had. Ventura launch is a lot better than Monterey launch but nothing's perfect at launch.

I think it sounds like the same processes etc too 🤦‍♂️

It could be but they added new features too. I use the Weather App a lot and new stuff is always a candidate for memory leaks. Fortunately whatever is leaking on my is very, very slow.
