Hi all,

I've never investigated this before, but since the update to Lion I have found my mid-2009 MBP (2.88 Core Duo, 4GB, 500GB) is a bit slow and laggy. So I think more RAM might help? I looked on the Apple website and it suggested the following:

Apple Memory Module 8GB 1066MHz DDR3

This retails at £320, inc vat and shipping. I've looked at the support sites and am confident I could install it myself. Just wondering if this is the best model to get, or if there are better/cheaper stuff out there? I have looked on-line and there does seem to be similar stuff out there for about 10% of the price, but what about performance?
