Memory Problem

Ok, so I finally decided to upgrade my macbook's ram. Got a 8gb kit from cruical. All was well for about a week, then my computer would randomly lock up for minutes at a time. Music would also skip durring playback. I even got a kernal panic at one point. And now my machine takes a full 5 minutes to boot I have tried everything it seems, including reinstall, using only one module of ram, resetting PRAM ect...

My question is, should I send the ram back for a warranty replacement or get a refund and buy memory elsewhere? And if I do get a refund should I just stick with 4gb?

If you put in the original RAM, does it still take that long to boot?

No, just with the 8gb. Is fine with a 4gb module too.

I'd get an RMA then and get some replacement RAM then.

Strange enough I just used Onyx to run the maintenance scrips, and did a restart. It came back up in under 30 sec. Weird!

I put the 8gb back in. If it gives me one more problem I'll send it back ASAP. I am now wondering if the problem is with itunes. After seeing this thread,
