I have 7GB in my Mac Pro G5 (3 x 2gb and 1 x 1GB)

is this fine? I have enough to do what I need but my concern is the odd number, is this an issue?

This is a single 2.66 Quad core

Hello,

A Mac Pro G5 does not exist. It's either a Mac Pro, OR a PowerMac G5.

Which is it, and which year?

I would assume it's either first gen Mac Pro with two 2.66GHz dual core CPUs or '09 quad core (current gen). There was never 2.66GHz quad core PowerMac G5, the fastest was 2.5GHz quad core.

Anyway, if it works fine and all RAM is recognized, you're fine.
