Memory stick formatting problems

My freind has a memory stick that he is using. It is a PNY 2 GB memory stick. He can not delete things off of it.

I have tried many ways such as disk utility to delete things off of it.

I cannot change any permissions because it says that I can read only. When i look at it, it does not look like the locked sign is ticked but it is grayed out and I cannot change it or format it.


Please can you help!
