I want to upgrade my memory to 2GB on my iMac (17" 2.0 Ghz Intel Core Duo). I went to crucial and the 2GB (1GBx2) kit is $207.
After checking other websites I went back to crucial to buy and accidentally clicked on the 17" 1.83Ghz model and the 2GB kit was on sale for $187.

My question is can I use the memory listed for the 1.83Ghz model in my 2.0?

I compared the specs of the memory and everything is identical:
Module Size: 2GB kit (1GBx2)
Package: 200-pin SODIMM
Feature: DDR2 PC2-5300
Specs: DDR2 PC2-5300 * CL=5 * Unbuffered * NON-ECC * DDR2-667 * 1.8V * 128Meg x 64

Any other suggestions on getting a 2GB kit for $200?

It's absolutely the same RAM. And that's exactly why I refuse to buy from Crucial...it's one of a number of unethical practices they engage in.

I only buy RAM from OWC and DMS.

Thanks

Thank you, I agree and will not purchase from crucial.

I just purchased from OWC and noticed they will buy my old RAM. It is just $50 for the 2 512 sticks, but I don't think I would get much more then that net of fees from Ebay and Paypal.

Anyone ever traded in thier old ram to OWC?

This is why I did not buy from them. There are even reports of different prices depending on what web browser you use. Absolutely ridiculous.
