On a 24" Imac I observe memory getting low at times. If I run 'repair disk permissions" I will go from 25mb-300mb up to 800mb to 1.5 gb free depending on what I am doing at the time.
While that is great that it frees up the ram the question is WHY does messing with disk permissions have anything at all to do with it.
Side note I don't notice this memory leaking on a MBP or mac mini. I have checked startup items and nothing any different than on MBP.
Just now while typing this I was at 422mb ran 'repair disk permissions' and now back up to 872mb. If anyone has any insight as to what is going on I would love to hear it.
Thanks in advance.
