Recently I just buy a new Macbook Pro and an external LCD display. I am using this dusplay as an extened display so that I can do different work at different displays (reading article at one display and writing note at the other). However, I find that I cannot show my menu bar and dock at both display which is kind of pain for me to move back the one with menu bar and dock. Is there a way to do that or alternative ?

there isn't a way to show menu bars on both displays, but you can pick where the menu bar goes. when my macbook pro is connected to an external display, i have it set so the menu bar is on the external. you can do this by dragging the menu bar to the external display in the display preferences.
