Samarium macrumors 6502a Jan 6, 2008 533 0 @ home. Dec 23, 2008 #3 Same here. I'm in 10.5.6 but I checked on a new MBP with 10.5.5 and it had the same problem.

G GloveSlap415 macrumors newbie Original poster Aug 4, 2008 5 0 Dec 23, 2008 #5 I did update to 10.5.6. But I could have sworn I was still able to set the energy setting within the menu bar itself after the update. Maybe, I'm delusional.

I think if you look in one of the 10.5.6 updates threads its a feature that went missing after the update, so maybe you are delusional

jaw04005 macrumors 601 Aug 19, 2003 4,589 620 AR Feb 1, 2009 #10 I just reinstalled Leopard from my newly delivered Mac Box Set. Surprise! The menu options are back, and I have the new CFL light bulb icon on the Energy Saver preference pane. The build that ships on the new disc is 10.5.6 Build 9G66, compared to 9G55 that is available through Software Update.
