Menu Bar Color...

I've been using computers pretty much my entire life. I'm 30 now and my eyes are slowly but surely going bad. I was wondering if there is a way to change the color of the Menu Bar in Snow Leopard to something darker? Hasn't really affected me until recently. Thanks in advance for your help!

Btw, have you turned off the transparency of the Menu Bar?

I've got the translucent on. Still doesn't dim it that much even though my background ir black.
