This started yesterday for no apparent reason. I use Spaces for individual applications on an M2 Air and have 5-6 applications open most of the time. I have all Mission Control options to arrange Spaces turned off and the Menu Bar set to automatically hide when in full screen. I've tried toggling all these options on and off, force restarting the Finder, restarting the Macbook, etc.

The issue is that when I use a 3-finger horizontal swipe to switch Space, the Menu Bar flashes and blips out. It works fine otherwise but this is a really distracting annoyance and also indicative of some kind of glitch that I'd like to address in case it means something in the OS somewhere has borked itself and it's only going to get worse. Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it?

I've found another issue that I think might be related to this and might be related to yet another thing I've experienced in the past.

The Command + Tab application switcher isn't switching to the application in Spaces. It instead switches to it whilst remaining in the Finder/Desktop, not the currently open window of the application in Spaces.

In the past I've also experienced an issue where rebooting/relogging into an account with previously open applications in Spaces and the option to reopen open applications after restart, results in blank Spaces that disappear if I click on them. It seems this might have some relation to the issue I'm now dealing with as occassionally when I use a three-finger swipe down on the touchpad and click on a different Space, I get a brief 'flash' of a blank Space as if there's something 'inbetween'.

I've tried Disk Utility First Aid and nothing is wrong and tried flushing DNS cache and that didn't stop it. What else is there?

Hmm. It seems to have fixed itself but I'm pretty sure now that the issue had something to do with the TAL agent not quitting properly in Spaces.
