Menu bar gone in mail app

Hey! I've had my iphone 3G for a few weeks and today, while I was reading an email, the top menu bar with the back-"button" (not an actual button of course, but the icon on the screen) suddenly vanished and it's not coming back. That means that, now that I've opened a specific message, I can't go back to the inbox or anywhere else at all. I tried finding something on the internet but nobody else seems to have the same problem.

If anyone has a suggestion - please help me!! I'd really appreciate it.

hi, i'm having exactly the same problem for the last two days. did you figure out how to fix it?

As annoying as it was, I did a System Restore on the iTouch and that fixed it.
